Why we exist
So much of or modern society and economy relies on the combined work of Scientists, Technologists, Engineers and Mathematicians. Some of the key skills that STEM education provides, including problem-solving and critical thinking, are highly valued in workplaces across all sectors.
Educating students about STEM careers is vital to ensure that they are well-equipped to solve the problems of the future and take on roles that require STEM backgrounds.
Producing the next generation of STEM graduates is essential for continued innovation, economic growth and increased productivity; as well as to help ensure that Australia remains competitive internationally in these important fields. In addition, it is essential that we increase diversity in the STEM workforce to ensure that we capture the full potential of talent and are equipped to tackle the economy of the future.
What we do
USTEM provides a booking platform on which you can choose packages for STEM outreach events. Browse through the workshops provided by our Student-led Projects to select your preference.
We ask you to submit an outreach booking request form with as much information as possible. One of our Engineering Student Ambassadors will then liaise with you and the workshop organisers to help set up and run your event.
The wide choice of workshops allows you to tailor the services to your needs and time constraints and offers you flexibility in cases such as where it may be difficult to take the students out of class. It also allows you to pick workshops relevant to the current curriculum or subject area being studied.
Our mission is to inspire the next generation of STEM graduates through education, early exposure and hands-on experience. We want to make STEM outreach as easy and accessible as possible by connecting the dots between schools and STEM resources. Large or small, metropolitan or regional, we encourage schools of every type to participate to broaden our impact in promoting STEM.
